Call for Speaker Proposals 2016

Please join us at CCLI as a speaker!

Proposal Deadline: December 4, 2015

Conference Date: April 29th, 2016

Join us for this year’s California Conference on Library Instruction which will be held at the University of San Francisco on Friday, April 29, 2016. The conference theme is Reframing Instruction: Looking at What We Do with a New Lens.

Between the release of ACRL’s new Framework, #critlib discussions taking off on Twitter, a growing focus on digital literacy, and calls for tossing out the “one-shot,” academic librarians are once again reframing our work in different and new ways. Many of the old challenges aren’t yet out of the picture, and our canvases remain stretched thin, but new opportunities to reach our students and prove our value are entering the frame. When it comes to information literacy, how are you focusing on the bigger picture, zooming in on the Framework, restoring faded activities, or viewing the learning process with a new lens? CCLI invites you to share teaching strategies and tools for reframing information literacy instruction, from first-year seminars to capstone projects.

All presenters will be allotted 60 minutes. We recommend that prospective presenters refer to our evaluation rubric.

Proposals should:

  • Relate to the “Reframing Instruction” theme
  • Clearly outline the session
  • Be timely and applicable to academic librarians
  • Include specific learning outcomes as well as how you plan to incorporate active learning (hands-on activities, discussion, etc.) into your session.

Interested in presenting? Please use our submission form at http://goo.gl/forms/qzjkokRJQt

The deadline for submissions is December 4, 2015.

We appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you!
